The Beatrice offshore wind farm comprises 84 wind turbines, hundreds more are planned .In the sound between Caithness andStroma a cluster of prototype underwater turbines are generating electricity by exploiting the tidal race between the Atlantic and the North Sea. (a fish and sea mammal area) A number of similar projects are planned in the Pentland Firth off Caithness and Orkney. (all areas with sea mammals)

King Charles has asked for a surge in profits from six new #OffshoreWindFarms on the Crown Estate, worth £1bn, to be used for the "wider public good", rather than the Royal Family.

The Royal Household's public funding is based on 25% of Crown Estate profits.
