H.G. Wells, Arthur C. Clarke, and Isaac Asimov first started to popularise the idea of mining other planets for minerals. A brief reference in Clarke's 1951 novel 'The Sands of Mars', noted that mining machines would strip the planet of minerals in just a few years.

55 years later, was formed to develop autonomous industrial mining robots that could be used on other planets. The company recently began signing deals with mining companies around the world to deploy the machines at terrestrial mines.

Last week Arabia signed a deal with OffWorld and could become key test-bed for its industrial swarm robots
