I've never had a better birthday weekend. Or felt so comfortable to be myself

This past weekend camping and exploring the world with #ofmd queerdos has really shifted the way I feel about myself and about other people. I don't think I'd really understood the sorts of friendships I want with people before this

I adore my alone time. But I need more of this. More neurospicy queerdo nerds who get just as excited as me about a dramatically shaped rock

I love this show and the fandom so much

So I'm really not great at remembering artists or song titles. I don't make themed playlists. Music is both very important to me and also too much.

All that said, pretty much every song I hear makes me think of #ofmd. This show is my whole brain, it colours everything

Day 6: Fav supporting character(s)

Mary: she's smart, sensible, assertive, and direct even when Stede is way too up in his head. The way they grow in their relationship is inspiring and somehow believable, bc she develops so much as a character despite relatively little screen time. For a pirate show it was always gonna be hard to get women's stories in there, but they did a fine job with her.

also Evelyn: Kristen Johnston I mean OMG. She is everything.

My wife and I have been working on the Wikipedia "Sailor tattoos" article for more than a year now, which happened after I watched #OFMD and remembered a talk at the GLBT Historical Society in 2020 about 19th century gay sailors (CW for descriptions of historical homophobia and sex https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXa4xnJfcpQ).
