God honestly I love a hiatus but I love this stage of fandom too, ramping up to a new season!! I watched the #OFMDS2 teaser 4x throughout the day just to bask in the excitement. Gotta prepare my body for a 3 episode premiere, I’m so not ready 😭

I think we’ve got the whole “sword fighting candles” scene wrong.

It’s not that Izzy set it up for “practice purposes” and then Stede just happened to come in and see Izzy show his skill with the sword.

No, it’s Stede who set up all the candles. He wanted a romantic atmosphere for his and Izzy’s date night.

Then Izzy came in and realised what sort of a fire hazard Stede had created. There’s probably gun powder there, too. So, Izzy needs to snuff out the candles quickly.
