I made a small update to OgreBattle64.net last night. It's one of a handful of updates that I've made over the last couple of months.

My current big project is making graphics for every enemy unit in the game, but I have lots of other on going plans!

I've been making video game websites for more than 20 years. It's something I do for fun!

I'll be sharing my website projects and talking about the games I'm playing (spoiler alert: it's going to be mostly #TearsOfTheKingdom for the rest of the year 😅).

I still recall the first time I heard the opening of Queen's Ogre Battle in 1976. I was gobsmacked.

Play it loud on a good stereo system or headphones if you haven’t heard it. The weird guitar at the start is a bit from the end of the song, with the tape played backwards on the mixing desk.

@OneJaeAtATime it’s such a cool system! I like being able to get all the way into the OS (even though I’ve got no reason to use a terminal on it)

I’ve also loaded it up with some emulators so I can play some old N64 games and stuff. I needed my #OgreBattle fix

"Ogre" in modern RPG's means "big dumb barbarian monster", but the original European ogre was the wealthiest devouring everyone else.

Bravely Default has that OG Gustave Dore Puss in Boots ogre, maybe this is the naming inspiration for Ogre Battle?

I put up the Oeilvert observations on #tumblr though. Though I do like the fact that as a female player character you can marry Tristan or become a tyrant who Tristan has to vanquish in #ogrebattle March of the Black Queen... (But wouldn't it be fun if you could do both in the same ending? Haha)

A fitting subject for Diamine’s “oxblood” ink, no? I actually use this ink at work because I love it and it’s dark enough in a fountain pen to be “professional” (you KNOW if I could get away with it I’d be whipping out my emerald of chivor for every letter and document I have to sign 😂)
