The first step to changing my oil is draining it. I’m using a vacuum pump system. It takes quite a while to drain 3 gallons of warm oil out of the Penta D4-300 diesel engine. This is the first time I’m changing the oil by myself. Filters and oil cost about $300 but I’ll save at least $150 in labor by doing it myself. #boating #DIY #OilChange

My #OilChange miracle is the EZ-Oil drain valve. (No affiliation, just a happy customer)

If your vehicle's layout needs it, you can add an adapter and hose to direct the flow of oil, before flicking the lever to drain the sump.

Beats the heck out of unscrewing and dropping the sump plug each time, for those of us not blessed with your lucky maintenance miracle 😜

I changed the oil and oil filters in two vehicles yesterday.
Drove both cars half onto the footpath. Crawled under along the gutter ( just) and drained the oil into a pan and removed and replaced the old oil filters.
Now, you’d think the road, footpath and me would be covered in oil at this point.
But no. Turns out there was some sort of car maintenance miracle y’day.
So pleased. Had to share.
