5 years ago, I was glued to twitter to follow people like @ai6yr as hot winds blew around our home in Ventura, CA. I'm a fire ecologist and so was already expecting a fire in such weather but #ThomasFire was beyond belief. I was in shock as it quickly ran from Santa Paula toward the Ventura city line. As things were unfolding, my inner nerd opened a box with some of my fire books. #worldfire by @stephenjpyne felt on topic. I will never forget those long nights. #venturastrong #ojaistrong
