I have noticed some bands have hashtags running, many don't. However I see many of us posting about music take the extra effort to properly hashtag bands.
Would ppl bother if "fulltext search would take care of it" ?? Quite possibly not.
Yet look at full text twitter search results for:

total trash results.
Now look at

I see so many valuable fediverse examples of user hashtag curation in varied fields
