The local facebook page for my hometown of #okoboji Iowa has been talking about how the "Wedding Tree" along the coast of the lake fell down this weekend in a storm.

Very interesting to see half of the people very sad that the tree fell and asking for a plaque or memorial to be put in place, while the other half of the page (including me) is just hearing about this tree for the first time. Never heard of it despite living there for 21 years.

Small town landmarks are a funny thing.
