That said, I subscribed to that magazine for several years when I was a new ham &, W2NSD/1 aside, it was a good magazine. Circa 1992, he did a tabloid for n00bs called Radio Fun ("RF" - get it?) that was also good even if it didn't last.

It reminded me that there were no ethics in those days around the direct copying of material from others without attribution - whole copies of my early files appeared everywhere, as did recipes (especially this one) when I moved to a blogging platform.
Personally there was a tension between my belief that recipes SHOULD be shared freely, and wanting recognition for my work.
In the end I just shrugged my shoulders and went, whatever, except if they were clearly building a reputation or making money. I'd ask them to take them down. Some were devious. Most complied.
Most bloggers learnt quickly to put a line in a recipe stating "the original recipe appears here <link>" Most copiers were not savvy enough to remove the line 😂😂
