We had a super week with our friends and their kids, visiting lots of local lakes for walks, beach-time, swims and picnics. We had lots of fun days around our house too, with splashy pool time, garden treasure hunts, #slackline challenges, sports and obstacle races being enjoyed between long, lazy alfresco meals. Ha - I said we'd be back. We couldn't resist stopping in for another #wildswim at the gorgeous Lake Montriond as we passed. We suited up and swam around the buoys for a 2.2km loop, passing the occasional paddleboarder & kayaker en route. The (now) 21degC clear water was slinky smooth and the sun was shining, perfect conditions. Then a riverside walk and explore of #Morzine central before meeting friends for dinner & drinks. Another great day in the mountains. #France #frenchalps #oldfriends

Mrs. Dragon organised a reunion of her college tennis club at a British footie pub in Shibuya. We haven’t seen this crew for about eight years, and one member has sadly passed. The class clown actually took a 4-hour bullet train trip back to Tokyo from a work trip just to make it. We thought with most having to work tomorrow, the festivities would peter out around 8:30 or so, but we all got pleasantly pissed and stayed until just after ten.

Les Gets traditional charm was rather overshadowed with construction sites & concrete lorries, but we gathered information on cycling pistes from a tourist office and, after stops in Morzine (aire) & Saint Jean D'Aulps (abbey), we headed to #Seytroux for dinner, drinks and a lot of catching up with one of N's childhood friends- they'd not met in person for over 40 years! He's a keen ultrarunner, cyclist & Francophile, so we'd plenty to chat about and stories to share. #oldfriends

We bounced off the mountain after our hike and decided to overnight in the nearby village of Le Reposoir. We walked around town and visited the #Chartreuse du Reposoir with its beautiful setting and lake.
Later there was an event on where you could quiz various experts on elements of the forests, from hunting to ecology. Road works noise and dust from 7am disrupted our lie-in, so we headed off early to explore Les Gets & Morzine, and later to meet up with some #oldfriends #Frenchalps #hiking

Very relaxed day today, my last day off. Will go back to work tomorrow, but looking forward to it.

Since I kept going back and forth on whether to buy a Fiat 500e (electric) because our two-seater MG-F is getting too old to be used on a regular basis and because we really need a four-seater to have weekend trips with my MIL, I finally managed to go to the local car dealer and have a good look at the Fiat. It is imo the best electric car, with max 420km reach on one charge (realistically 300-350), small, nice, nothing too fancy. I got a nice quote and since I am freelancer/self-employed I can deduct VAT, which makes it net ~24,000 EUR, and I can write it off, so … yeah, I will probably buy it. Just need to wait for #LoveOfMyLife to come back and have a look herself. Then we can “convert” our two-seater roadster to be a summer car only

Anyway, so, it was a relaxed, nice day. With that, I bid you good night, my awesome #NewFriends and my cherished, beloved, adored #OldFriends of Fediverse. Lately I’ve been little tired already in the early evening. I am assuming it is due to my change of eating habits: I’ve decided to go vegetarian and am currently still on a great vegetable soup dietary path. It is going quite well and the vegetarian (not vegan) part is really doing wonders about my sleep quality (everything up).

No worries, though, since I am having a full blood test every 90 days, we see that my health is actually getting even better. And yes, I make sure I have a very balanced diet (no worries there).

Anyway, I actually was just searching for an “opener” for tonights #GoodNightFediverse.
