I decided to try to stat the monsters on the first level of *The Lost Dungeon of Tonisborg*, for *Dragons At Dawn*, as the most old school Blackmoor thing possible.

Maybe it might be an interesting comparison point for that rare individual out there who knows about this niche old school gaming niche.

I'm pretty sure actual play will show the numbers to be way off.

Despite its relative anonymity, Drill Dozer is highly recommended on the and I can see why. It's a great puzzle-platformer with some clever mechanics and gorgeous graphics and animation. Proper charming.

Further Adventures with the MISTer

Next on my play all the best games on every system was Super Mario Kart on the Super NES and Drill Dozer on Gameboy Advance.

There was something wrong with the rom image I had, I suspect it was a PAL version, but you couldn't pick up coins or power-ups, losing much of the fun.

I replaced the rom and played through Mushroom Cup on 50cc and 100cc with my daughter.

I've played it before, though I was never very good, and I noticed that the powerslide was only just developing and she noticed that the Final Lap sound effect is the same in the newer versions.

Since I was warmed up, I also tried a romhack of Mario Kart called Epic Racers - produced by Ok Impala!, Stifu, smkdan and released in November 2020. The tracks are hard but the graphics are great!

Drill Dozer is highly recommended on the Gameboy Advance and I can see why. It's a great puzzle-platformer with some clever mechanics and gorgeous graphics and animation. Proper charming.

Being retro handheld consoles' fan I decided to get a Game and Watch as these systems are their predecessor.
I choose the Zelda one because, after some research, I was amazed to see the complexity of the game: level system, bosses, items... In short, unbelieveable for the time.
