Back when I answered phone calls doing support for Comcast internet (dark days), a customer once told me “the gays” should “get their own internet.” That’s ridiculous for more reasons than I can count… but I could actually see the web splitting in half in the coming years, just not to divide users and publishers by their sexual preference.

I can foresee a future in which there are two classes of web browser: browsers that support sites with Google’s awesome new DRM designed to break adblockers and ensure unimpeded data collection in the name of “user safety,” and browsers that support the #OldWeb/#SmolWeb/#WebRevival, where publishers not trying to make a buck have no reason to prove to you who they are and no desire to ensure they have full peeping access to who you are and what you’re up to.
