First time I’ve had that camera out of its case since 2019! These are two different #squirrels. First one was across the street to the northwest of the stage. Many towns in this area of southeastern Illinois claim to be the “home of Illinois’ best chowder,” or the “world renowned chowder king,” and #OlneyIllinois is no exception. We haven’t yet tried this regional chowder, (my wife and I are recent transplants to Olney) but we hear it’s nothing like chowder you’ve had in other places, and that it’s delicious. I’ll report back once I’ve had the opportunity to try it.

#OlneyIllinois has a lot of painted wall art around town these days. Over the next few weeks, I’ll try to get some pics of these as I pass them by. This Midwest Coca-Cola Bottling Co. sign is on the side of a building near my doctor’s office.

Another great place we found out about recently in #OlneyIllinois is “Speakeasy.” It’s a BYOB (and bring-your-own-food) old-school arcade, open on Saturdays from noon until midnight. You pay $15 for the whole day, & for that entrance fee, you can play as many games as you want, all-night, non-stop, for no additional charge. You get an arm-band, so you can leave the building & return again as often as you’d like. #SkunkTracksBlog

Because it’s off the beaten path, not quite on the main strip, & we never though to ask... we only just discovered this week that #OlneyIL actually has a #BowlingAlley. Not a tiny bowling alley - it’s actually a pretty good sized one - & totally retro. This one’s been here since 1975; the same family has been running one locally since the 1950’s. #Bowling #OlneyIllinois #SkunkTracksBlog
