I tried installing a couple of Alarm apps. #Samsung has one that they ship with their phones...I've used it before and like it. But so far, I haven't gotten it to work with #OmniROM. Perhaps it has some Samsung (or more likely, #Google) dependencies.

I tried another random Alarm app from the APKPure site. It installed cleanly. But when the alarm time occurs, nothing happens.

Here's another problem: #OmniROM has no Alarm app.

Nada.

It's not in the Apps list.

When I swipe down, there's an "Alarm" button. But it doesn't do anything. When tapped, the screen turns white momentarily and returns to the desktop.

The Contacts app wouldn't import from a *.vcf file -- permissions to internal storage were missing.

I couldn't find where to add the permission in the GUI, which you'd think would be easier than hacking from the command line...

So I hacked from the command line via adb.exe instead. I have my contacts now via this command:

adb.exe shell pm grant com.android.contacts android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

We're not off to a good start. 😔

Unlocking, rooting, and installing a 'custom' ROM on #Android is frightening.

Earlier today I gave up on #OmniROM because I didn't think I'd be able to follow the installation steps exactly.

But I decided to give it a try after failing with another/different ROM. There were a few times along the way where I though I might have bricked the phone. 😬😬😬

Anyway, here I am. I'm not sure how I got here.

@kuketzblog e/OS auf meinem #Fairphone 3 ( gekauft ca. 2021 ) Soweit ohne "Google" und nur App von F-Droid. Kein spezieller Grund, fand e/OS interessant und hatte seitdem auch keinen Grund mehr ein anderes Android ROM zu flashen. Auf meinem alten in der Sony Xperia Compact das in der Schublade liegt habe ich noch #OmniROM und auf einem weiteren alten, zum Musik hören, Samsung Galaxy Tab3 (gt-p5200) ist #LineageOS installiert.

Y'a des gens ici qui utilisent un téléphone Sony XZ2 Compact (Dual Sim) avec un Lineage OS un peu récent ?
Ou avec /e/OS / #Murena ?

Ou un dérivé plus mieux maintenu à jour ?
(En particulier si c'est un #OmniROM)
