So the ondes Martenot article in Wikipedia indicates that Elmer Bernstein first learned about the ondes from English composer Richard Rodney Bennett, but HE only is attested to using it since the 1960s, and I'm almost positive Bernstein used an ondes Martenot in the "Robot Monster" score of 1953 🤔
