I'll be blunt: this is a call out post.

I have a friend who is an artist and an adoptee. Their adoptive family are all abusive and/or dead. I'm one of the closest meatspace connections they have and we've never met in person. Online connections are vital to their mental health.

They created an account #onehere. They saw a post by either @mastoart@a.gup.pe or @mastoart@graphics.social (they don't recall which & they're too pissed off to check) that used adoption related language and challenged that language. The response was simply that they got froze out.

The result: they're very put off from this place. And I feel unable to cut off my twitter presence because that's our only connection now.

I'd love to hear your plans for doing better in the future.
