Computer scientist Keith Burghardt, Information Sciences Institute (ISI), a research institute of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, has been studying #socialmedia for five years, and specifically studying #onlin hate for the last year. His team found that in less than six months, hate speech has significantly increased on Twitter.
