The most prolific poster was dang (HN moderator), with 9,272 comments (~25.4/day), I came in at 3,384 (just under 10 comments/day), there are 365 members with > 1,000 comments, and number 10k weighs in at 70.
There were 150k+ active members during the year.
Again, a general sense of #SocialMedia / #OnlineForum activity patterns.
I'd really like to see stats on HN moderation and account activity. I'm digging into Whaly's methodology and background for more info.
