Came across this beautiful microwave link station in , a site which operates in a very special way: the signal is aimed towards a reflector in the mountains and from there it is bounced towards its destination 📡👌🏻

It’s not uncommon to do this, but it’s the first time I’ve ever seen one, real life 😃

While visiting sites like this, it’s always a good idea to look at the installation - in this case the waveguide feeds, the dimensions of which reveal the operating frequency area, likely between 8-12GHz.

I don’t agree with the practice. Recruiters who do this need to be called out. If they do such things then they don’tdeserve your application. 😡

I am on-site a couple of days a week for various reasons...

Today I:

(i) saw this sign for a training being held, and checked out what it was

(ii) had an impromptu meeting with someone outside of but associated with a development I am part of - and we had an excellent discussion on needs, implications, expectations, end-use, and more...

These further reminded me I am coming to be very really appreciative of what a hybrid working locations solution in the workplace can bring...

What I learned looking work in after became more normal:

2 I interviewed for demanded work. was a bit better.

One manager was an outdated hell-bent on "gotcha" interview questions. Explained to him how I did something in production and he said it was "impossible"..ok..

Other was the third employer at a company of 500. Non-IT guy hell-bent on using trendy tech he didn't understand.

Now I work for a w/a VP that knows his shit..

I love when I find social engineering advice in unexpected places. Just finished reading Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's delightful, ineffable, and hilarious, Good Omens. Seriously amazing book if you haven't read it, and the show on HBO is fantastic as well.
