#OnTheBench A horrible Chinese variac. For the same local engineer as the afore mentioned dummy load. Replacing all the wiring (including the power cord), updating the plugs and switches, installing a digital ammeter, and making a good ground. Sort of like putting lipstick on a pig, but for safety. I really don’t like the way the wire to the wiper is wrapping around the dial shaft so much.
