Pulled out an old grubby iPad keyboard from a box and it works with the #onyxboox note air 2 plus. Tempted to get this to a point where I can use this on the go instead of a laptop.

Started playing with #amateurradio DXing on the #onyxboox Note Air 2 Plus. Most digital modes don't run that quickly, so it works fairly well on e-ink. I imagine waterfalls will work best with various e-ink setting tweaks and adjusting waterfall speed.

Here's Robot36 both captured from the device internally, and a photo of the same screen at the end on the device itself.

Reading on the #onyxboox is definitely better than on a #kindle but I suspect that's the screen size is a large part of it. I do like being able to mark and annotate. The boox note air 2 plus is heavier, but the weight is fine..

Firs impressions of the #onyxboox Note Air 2 Plus: It's pretty good. So far, #obsidian, Syncthing-fork are playing nicely. Reading full-sized CBZs and PDFs are great, and drawing/annotating is good enough for #art. Handwriting recognition is very good.
Packaging was wasteful, and I can't recommend a GPL violating device, which is a shame as I really would otherwise. I'm looking forward to trying the split screen view with drawing tutorials and a note side by side.

Just got my new #onyxboox tab x ultra with its 13.3” e-ink screen. This is a major step forward for reading academic books and articles. I use #readcubepapers on my Mac, iPads and this device as well. The e-ink screen is more restful to use. Whether it’s any healthier is another story. Any place on here for academics to discuss their use of tech?

Onyx Boox has yet again completely overhauled their UI without warning leaving me struggling to figure out how to do something as simple as go back to the home screen. It's invisible stuff that really vexes me - having to relearn gestures on the fly without visual queues. Admittedly it does look like an improvement overall though.

I have three #eink readers: a #Kobo Aura One, a #kindle (off the top of my head, I don't even know what model it is!), and an #OnyxBoox Nova Color 3.

Okay. Actually, I have two more older models in another room, so really five. 😅 These are main ones I use though. It kinda seems excessive, but they each have their positives and negatives.
