Last supported release is Catalina but that’s where #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher comes in.
It’s transparent so updates from #Apple can be applied as normal.

Installing the drive was simple. The adaptor is the same length as a stock #Apple drive and a standard #M2 #ngff drive attaches to it so it’s a direct replacement.

Success. A cost-effective way of having a perfectly functioning 11-year old Macbook Pro running the latest OS for people on a budget. The upgrade parts cost under £150. It can be done much cheaper than this. Suitable Macbooks can be bought on ebay for £100 or less. #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher project, and YouTube tutorials give step-by-step instructions for saving another computer from landfill. #reuse #recycle

Nice. Thanks to #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher, my vintage (according to Apple) 12 inch MacBook from 2015 is now running macOS 13.2 Ventura 😘

It doesn't feel slower than it already was. The form factor is still so much nicer than that of my, admittedly, much more powerful M2 MacBook "Air" (which actually weighs 30% more).

I was thinking of switching my MacBook Pro 2012 to Linux or OpenBSD, since it was stuck on macOS Catalina.
