I've been reading bits of the D6 game systems and thinking about running an Urban Fantasy (basically Urban Arcana) with it. I like the Mini Six rules the most right now since it simplifies a lot of the system, but if I kind of like the Magic System presented in D6 Adventure with the complicated framework for building new spells.

I'll have to let it roll around in my head more.

Lunch breaks are a way around that. I only get 30 minutes and I can't use work computers. So, I have a list of things I can work on that won't violate policy or disrupt my coworkers (though one of them runs two games a week with other staff).

Today's work involved delving into OpenD6. Since learning that the OpenD6 system is not actively being worked on (with the exception of Anti-Paladin Games), I wanted to work on a d6/d12 based game that feels like a neoclone.

Open D6 is OGL, but uses the OGL 1.0a

Since it's abandonware, I wonder if it could be made available under a different license? Then again, I suppose we would need to find the last owner of West End Games. (I forget his name.)

@bradfonseca In general, I find they just slow things down vs fixed target numbers. I've seen them used in the OG #Palladium system, which is far from a good example of implementation, and there's an option in #MiniSix and #OpenD6, which are better implementations.

I still personally prefer static numbers, tho.

Det blev lite väl många presenter till mig själv denna jul; D6 Fantasy och Mini Six från #DriveThruRPG samt Rocket Age och Hollow Earth Expeditions att använda som settings till mitt D6-spelande. Jag hittade även D6 Adventures: Locations i nätbutik, så den ligger och väntar på mig på utlämningsstället.
