Open Knowledge Foundation are kicking off a process to update the Open Definition: https://blog.okfn.org/2023/03/16/updating-the-open-definition-to-meet-the-challenges-of-today/

The #OpenDefinition was a defining tool in #opendata advocacy, providing a focal point for action by groups with often quite divergent interests - but who could coalesce common point of pushing for 'open' against a binary opposite of 'closed'.

But as Paradox of Open (https://paradox.openfuture.eu/) essay explores, open is more complex today - and new approaches needed.
