Nice morning at the coffee shop finishing up the next chapter from Cooperative Enterprise and Market Economy and meeting with my local baker and her partner about getting them on #OpenFoodNetwork. Turns out they are eager to learn about cooperatives and solidarity economy, and they brought me cibatta and English muffins.

After months of planning and data entry (thousands of products). Hunt or Gather Buying Club has made the move to #OpenFoodNetwork We are giving ourselves a month to iron out the initial kinks, then will come back to other issues: cold storage, delivery, building member participation, establishing links with OFN in Mexico...

Had a lovely "Joyful Check-in" this morning with a small group of food system organizers. We meet weekly for an hour to share, coordinate, brainstorm. One of today's highlights: @ssvette used #OpenFoodNetwork to enable people to join their local community garden. This is where OFN can shine, as a key piece of shared infrastructure. Listening to the Exit to Community webinar yesterday about Circles and Cambiatus got me excited about local currency/timebank/holochain possibilities, too.

So, is #Shiro just #OpenFoodNetwork on a #holochain?

More local #foodsovereignty organizing. We are introducing #OpenFoodNetwork to the Food Policy Advisory Board in Colorado Springs tomorrow morning. One cool development, a university student who is working with us on developing OFN locally is now on the new Board of OFN USA.

Nice chat with Open Food Network folks this morning -- great to see the network growing. I feel like OFN has staying power while the many VC backed platforms will end up fading. BUT only if we organize it.
