AD&D 2nd Edition is not the same game as D&D 3rd Edition. D&D 5th Edition is not the same as 3rd. The trademark is not an assurance of quality. It is a trespass sign on a fencepost, reminding everyone who is allowed to make the money. Why give them a mental head start on all the competing completely new #TTRPG systems?

It basically feels like if some open-source company suddenly said the previous cc0 would no longer apply. I've heard a few people say it is not possible for them to revoke their previous license and I sure hope they are right.
