Does anyone have any info on the licensing status/source code of OpenGD77? From what I’ve been able to ascertain, it was open source at one time but the GitHub repo was taken down. Is it actually open source? If so, where is the source code available? The GitHub organization with the repo for the user guide is “LibreDMR” and everyone is advertising it as open source, but is it actually? #HamRadio #opengd77

I'm in business with OpenGD77!

Had a slight hiccup with Windows 11. Firmware loaded without issue but the CPS could not read or write to the DM-1701.

Switched to Windows 10 and everything appears to work. 🤞

Anyone else experience this?

Hooray that #qdmr is available via brew! That's progress.

I got a "segmentation fault" when I tried to use it on a radio that looks supported (OpenGD77 on RD-5R) but might not be. The writeup here

Installed #OpenGD77 on my old #RD5R . No problems with the firmware installation, and at least some parts of my old code plug survived.

The documentation is pretty good all in all, but since I have an RD-5R and not a #GD77 all of the references to which key does what are wrong. (There is no green button, there are two orange buttons etc.) I'll be able to work through it once I get some more hands on time.

I'll figure out the analog side first.

@w8emv I wasn’t aware that #OpenGD77 was available for the #RD5R. Thanks for the heads up.

Setting up my Radioddity #RD5R so that I can flash #OpenGD77 to it. Happily, the programming cable for it was easy to locate - let's hope the battery is still in OK shape after some time being discharged.

Today change the Radioddity firmware to OpenGD77 firmware and test the capabilities during the Radio Club Net.

My radio has now 3 bands (2m, 1.25m and 70cm) and the power output is now selectable. Text messages is not available... yet.

Today, during the Net, I can connect with the repeater with only 50mW of power. All reports was good and all colleagues said that my voice was clear.

I'll be testing the capabilities but I recognize that the OpenGD77 team are great.

Today I'm tested the #OpenGD77 firmware. Well, very well, but exist an ingredient to can accept it. The #SMS system.

My idea is test the communication between #DMR, #APRS and #DPRS. I hope the next versions include this.
