Mastodon > Threads because of the #opengraphprotocol
https://ogp.me/
@toabi @null What's an `og:type` of `object`?
Can't find it at https://ogp.me/#types
@Gargron @josephschmitt I do wonder if this is an example of #OGP (#OpenGraphProtocol) in need of some new love as @Edent writes https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2022/11/is-open-graph-protocol-dead/
One of the last things I was working on with Twitter's #DevRel team was an enhancement to cards - to be known as Twitter Tiles.
This would have involved creating new #OpenGraphProtocol tags. Hencebmy post at https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2022/11/is-open-graph-protocol-dead/
Could have been really great for two-way content flow. But looks like another thing they've killed off.

@Edent @evan
Yes, but it seems that «my» instance (mastodon.social) doesn't add #opengraphprotocol `og:image` from articles like https://www.theguardian.com/help/insideguardian/2019/apr/02/why-were-making-the-age-of-our-journalism-clearer
@evan Maybe @Edent can chime in on his experiences with #OpenGraphProtocol and fediverse/mastodon https://mastodon.social/@Edent/109296896721405316
I wrote that blog post because I was doing some work with a different social media site. They were looking at improving how oEmbed works.
I guess all that work has stopped now…
Sooooo - should the Fediverse start defining more #OpenGraphProtocol vocabularies?
Are there any standards groups I should be involved with?
