Finally decided to pick up and actually play morrowind (through #openmw ofc). Never really got it mentally and always quit before even leaving the first town your in lol.

Turns out even when standing on the shoulders of the giant that is #OpenMW to play a twenty year old single player game still requires a lot more effort the moment you want to introduce mods to a game that never intended to have multiplayer.

I got it working and it runs wonderfully; However I still remain forever haunted with chucksums and walking everyone that wants to play #Morrowind co-op through the multiple ini, cfg, and load esm load order particulars.

Worth it, but not without effort.

It's wild how smoothly the TES3MP mod for Morrowind runs, at least from my initial experience.

Movement is fluid, the journal is shared smoothly, it all just works. It also syncs the sounds and voicelines from NPCs to all clients. Like. Not even modern games do that most of the time. It's a small detail, but I love it so much.

Using my forced break after 3 work blocks time to walk around a bit in #Morrowind. I'm still at the very beginning, but I've already gone farther than I ever have in this game, having seen my first "you have leveled up" screen (after sleeping on it, first).

It was a bit dusty, though fortunately it cleared up a bit later. This world certainly brings a lot of mood with it, I like it :).

The new #OpenMW v0.48 release is imminent, after nearly a year of RC releases. I've always wanted to give #Morrowind a proper try as I've heard so much about the game's immersive world, but its gameplay style raises the barrier of entry -- not to mention my inability to commit many hours to gaming.

Even with several mods (look at that grass!) it seems to run quite well at 2560x1600 on my tiny #AMD #Ryzen #7735HS machine running #Fedora #Silverblue. I'm impressed.

Anyone having recommendations to make OpenMW prettier while preserving the overall original look?

@thecyberjudas @cas I've been playing games on #AlpineLinux for a few years now with Steam in flatpak. There are some "native" classics in the repos too, like #openmw that work great without flatpak.

So if you run a community of users or have friends and they all are on different apps, you can bridge all those different chats into one chatroom. And it works.

#OpenMW (<3) does this and they bridge their XMPP, Matrix, Discord and some other chatrooms into one big chatroom. And it works.

As an alternative #slidge can do essentially the same, but also has Signal support, so this pleases me. However, this is chatrooms chatting with chatrooms still as far as I can tell. But I should test this.

Just pushed an update to https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mygui-gl-git MyGUI was the only thing that didn't have a working pkgbuild on aur for aarch64 that is required for openmw.
