Die Überschrift suggeriert "#OpenRAN funktioniert nicht" und ist für mich somit reißerisch. Denn der Bericht der #Telekom du durchaus differenziert und berichtet von Fortschritten und Zielen. Man könnte ja meinen, das wäre ein gescheitertes Experiment. Aber nein! Man hat Ziele, sogar kurzfristig bis 2025.

I’ve been reading about building an open radio access network (RAN). RAN is the hardware / software backend for LTE cellular networks. If something could be built for ham radio in the 1.2 GHz band and more importantly we could get both Android and Apple devices to use this ham radio band we could do some amazing things. Imagine having LTE speeds with up to a three mile radius for “Citywide” ham radio data coverage.

I’m open to discussions.
