Dunno what's going on with #Freenom / #OpenTLD, but their recent slow collapse has a real "one guy was in charge of everything and he got hit by a bus" vibe to it.

First the .cf/.ga/.gq/.ml/.tk nameservers started intermittently dropping queries from eyeball networks (eg 7922). Then renewal notifications didn't go out. Now they suspended the ability to register or renew a domain at all, and the .ga DNS roots are wonky again.

Even as free throwaway domains they've lost their utility. Ah, well.
