Open Water Swim is the best Swim. Swam the 1K and 2K today at Insel-Ligerz-Schwimmen. Waiting in the blazing sun in neoprene before we were allowed in the water, was a bit annoying. But other then that, very nice afternoon in the water.

Today I replaced my lunch break #running with an #OpenWaterSwim and it definitely will be a feature of my summer!!

The open water swim from Faulensee to Spiez went pretty good. There was a constant headwind, but swimming the other direction would have presented some logistical issues with the SUPs. Water was refreshing on a hot day like this.

Was looking for a new and challenging open water swim event to participate in. Found a very cool one, but the date (already end of June) could not be worse. For one I'm not nearly trained enough, but a conflict with another event is killing it for sure.

At least I now know what to aim for in 2024: the crossing of the Bodensee, swimming from Switzerland to Germany. My longest swim so far is 4km, so the 5km crossing will be a real challenge.

Absolutely gorgeous #openwaterswim swim this morning at #CombsReservoir near #WhaleyBridge in #derbyshire. Localised low-lying cloud was lifting as we arrived, creating a beautiful, atmospheric scene as we walked down to the swim point. Water was 8.5C but it seemed much warmer in the sunshine so we enjoyed a fantastic 20 minute dip.

I love going for a swim in my local lake or the sea.
This video we made at giffgaff 4 years ago about Brighton Sea Swimmers was what made me go “I want to do that.”

I used to swim openwater years ago (but not in winter) and a friend who has kept it up is gently encouraging me to return to it. Sold my wetsuit, but my winter neoprene paddling gear should suffice. I have a couple of other friends around the world who also wild swim. Hope you can share a pic of your favourite #swimming hole.😊
