I didn't pay attention to #VR for a long time, from a player as well as from a developer perspective... but the degree of standardization of #XR #openxr in #unity, for example, is changing my perspective - and #millasmemo2 has finally arrived at home - the space arena has apparently always been there what I had in mind as a game designer...

@Blort @linmob @matthewcroughan i think that was the Rokid Max. I use them as a daily driver and I'm working with folks on making drivers for #Monado to have #OpenXR apps like @stardustxr available for spatial computing interfaces.

so cool, apparently it works : #godotengine #openxr binaries developped with #monado "just work" with steamvr on other people computers ... (on linux at least ... did not tested yet on other systems ...)
#OpenXR is definitely a step in the right direction, @collabora 's #monado is the closes thing I've seen to any attempt at a harware agnostic A/V/XR GUI environment.
My original plan (decades ago now) was just to expand the X11 protocol to support `Z`, so we could project windows in 3 dimentions, and then share displays with X, Y, Z.. like,

I was schooled on how the X protocol wouldn't
So OpenXR is nice to see, but We'll Seeโข... At least it's a spec.

Decided I'm going to continue working on PsychXR this summer after a 2 year hiatus. Hopefully I can get OpenXR support completed this time to remove the Meta OVR SDK dependency.
I might re-brand it as general purpose VR development library since many of it's current users are in industry or hobbyists.
