The worlds first themed pub is in London by black friars. It's art Deco, from the early 20th C and has bass reliefs meant to depict the medieval monastery.

One features the monks making music with the artist imagined might be medieval instruments, including a viol, a lute, a for anglais and a Russian Bassoon!

A Russian Bassoon is not medieval. (Nor is it Russian. Nor is it a bassoon.) As you all know, its a Prussian Marching #Serpent, designed to be played by the Prussian Army (and then named by confused French instrument makers). Sometimes its called an English horn.but in all cases, its just a more portable serpent. It was not commonly played by the time the relief was made, bit some were still knocking around.

I'm pretty sure this is not an #ophecleide because it seems to show finger holes rather than pads.
