#Opicina 🇮🇹 earlier today: a visit to the #tram station. Traffic hasn’t resumed yet. Departures to #Trieste are still performed by bus. The lovely “Bar alla Tramvia” right by the platform edge is open though, for snacks, drinks and a chat.

#Opicina 🇮🇹: the upper end of the #tram line from #Trieste. Pending line re-opening, track maintenance vehicles sit on the platform and the workshops are busy with servicing tramcars.
The station café is open, as always, serving German beer and selling tram memorabilia.

Today a visit to the #Trieste 🇮🇹 to #Opicina tram line. Traffic hasn’t resumed yet but some progress can be seen: the tracks between Piazza Oberdan and the lower end of the funicular section (where a tramcar is parked) no longer serve as parking lot. Fresh #TRAM paint and tow-away signposts are in place, discouraging motorists to park their car here.

Nice to stumble upon this video of the Trieste–Opčine tram/funicular, which I enjoyed travelling on while on holiday in Italy and Slovenia a little over 20 years ago 😊

This was before I had any means of recording video, and when I only had a film camera, but it feels very familiar
