J'utilisais JSDom (https://github.com/jsdom/jsdom) dans un projet #nodejs #javascript pour générer un arbre #opml (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outline_Processor_Markup_Language).

J'ai décidé de m'en passer simplement en manipulant des tableaux d'objets puis en sérialisant le tout sous forme de string #xml . À la « old school » quoi !

Une cinquantaine de lignes de code pour se débarrasser de 2.95 Mo de dépendances (dont je n'utilisais qu'une petite partie), on peut dire que ce n'est pas du temps perdu 😄

Does anyone know of a mobile podcasts app that would *subscribe to* (not just import) OPML feeds?

I'd like to manage my subscriptions in an RSS reader (inoreader) which will publish folder contents as OPML. I'd like a podcast app that automatically picks those up, without my having to download and reimport the OPML all the time.

It reads #RSS 2.0, #Atom, #Mastodon, #JSOM, and I forget what else. It works without requiring an account on some external service or storing information outside your device, but if really you want to do that sort of thing, you can sync across devices. You can import/export in #OPML. You can download full articles. You can adjust the font/size/colors of what you’re reading.

So yes, I’m very happy with it.

1) Glad they give us 2 months to find a new app

2) #OPML export/import is good

3) TO DO right away: find setting to turn new apps to stream only (no downloads)

4) DO NOT JUDGE/EVAL a new app right away. Install app, export OPML from #Stitcher/import to new app(s), and WAIT a day for new shows to drop.

I was looking at #Overcast— sluggish, unresponsive, incomprehensible

Goddamn you #GooglePodcasts for not having any facility to import/export #opml. Useless.

I’ve exported my #Stitcher #OPML file to 2 apps, Overcast and Podbean.

Both have a Something called a playlist (can have multiple), Overcast’s afaict is NOT at all like Stitcher show categories.
Will hafta see if Podbean does that and try out #feedbin as well.

After late 2022’s migrate from bird to wooly mammoth or whale, and newbie pain, I’ll hafta see how patient I am w THIS migration. 2 months to try stuff out.

The nice thing about #stitcher offering an #OPML export is that I can download a few apps and try them out. Also see if they can import OPML.

#SiriusXM may be closing the popular #Stitcher app, but the app should be congratulated for using open standards that make it easy to move your #OPML subscriptions to another #podcast app.

Made myself an OPML file of all my subreddits. Search n replace + an OPML generator did the hard work, and I have it in my feed reader now.

I mostly moved off, but I do have some places without replacements elsewhere.
