An absolute bargain #cookbook from the #opshop today. Maggie Beer's Maggie's Table. Enjoyable as a chatty visit with one of Australia's cooking legends. There are wonderful simple recipes like this tangelo cream that I can't wait to try: we have a tagelo tree in the backyard!
Others ingredients like crab, rabbit and goose are unlikely to come my way.

After two very long (if fairly productive) days at work, I am glad to be home. With dinner over and one of Mick Herron's thrillers freshly finished last night, I am about to dive into an early 20th century non-fiction adventure I picked up in an op shop over the weekend. I hope it lives up to the blurb.

Along with the usual reno projects planned, I intend to further customise Eulalie, my #dollhead #planter.

I found her at an #opshop a few years ago, as one does. Only today, I Googled the maker named on her base (Theo Klein), and eerily enough her original make/model whatever is the similar named "Coralie". 😂

(I name all my #mannequin heads after #EdgarAllanPoe characters. Started randomly with Ligeia in my first year at polytech, then I carried on with Morella, Lenore and Eulalie.)

I have very recently noticed that the vast majority of Opshops I visit have their book section in the left back corner of the store.
Do Op Shops discuss this? Is there a standard setup? Is this an unwritten rule? Is this a rule in the psychology of interior design of shops?

Very pretty #opshop clock. Enamelled Zig Zag teal and white front, Roman numerals, absolutely perfect. Tiny, just a sweet tabletop clock. I have quite a collection of clocks. My grandson likes to count them.

I found a wonderful basket at the #opshop. Strong and easy to carry, and it fits my library books under my side table in a nice group. I have quite a few baskets each bought second hand. There is something quite satisfactory about finding just the right one for the job.
