@jonobie A #state can #opt out of #DST. But a state can not opt out of #StandardTime, or change #TimeZone, or adopt permanent DST (basically the same thing as changing time zones), without federal approval.

#WA could move to adopt #permanent standard time and it would take effect immediately without approval.
