#Optus have advised they can't issue any partial refund as I'm not an Optus customer, and the subscription is through #Google. Google have said they can't issue a refund and I have to contact the developer.

There has to be a workaround, surely. I'm pushing Optus on this.

I signed up to #OptusSport to watch the #WWC2023. It costs $24.99 per month, as I'm not an #Optus customer.

I have been streaming on the #mobile app, to my TV via Chromecast. The quality is awful, freezes every couple minutes and then continues. It's fine in the app itself only, and on desktop browser. I have been trying to get #support for the last 2 hours.

The first support person said they would see what they could find, and disappeared.

The next did not understand that I'm not an Optus customer, but just Optus Sport. They asked how much I pay for my mobile service and home internet.

The third person asked what the issue was multiple times, before asking me to plug an ethernet cable into my mobile phone.

I bought an optus prepaid sim recently. Went to activate it, and they required so much personal data including bank account details, it scared me. So I threw it in the bin.
They simply ask for too much data, which they do not need

How do #Optus always say "Our technicians can't see any problems with the network", when their own app constantly rates their performance as poor?

Wondering if anybody with a background in telephone tech that can explain to me if there is any reason why phone companies cannot block, or at least flag, spoofed phone numbers. I feel that it would go a long way towards reducing phone-based scamming.

If they can't be blocked just put a flag on such calls that I can then set a block on. If I think that somebody that I want to hear from, that might use spoofed numbers, say telemarketing people, then I could choose to not block them. (Hint: that will never, ever happen.)

My ongoing assumption is that the phone companies are somehow making money from the spoofing process, and are willing to put up with their clients being scammed in order to keep doing so. Any one know a different explanation?

I got my phone number out of company ownership when they wouldn't upgrade my S10 to a Fold 3. But man, that was a battle with Optus.
Will be interesting so see what, if anything, they say about personal devices that access <things>.
