Consider the impact of #religious belief in an #afterlife upon the #environment.

Were there a #god that created #earth, I'd say that god did indeed create #heaven. A tiny pocket of life and #beauty entirely surrounded by a #vast #cold #vacuum of #death.

And yet, #christianity teaches us not to care for and #steward this #shrine of beauty we've been bestowed. But, to instead spend our time pining away for some other #promised land upon our #death. Can you say #cult?

The result is easily seen by use of #analogy. Let's say you live in a nice little square of #suburbia, But, across the street is an #opulent palace that you've been promised in 5 years -- if only you don't upset the rich man's apple cart. Where will your attention focus? Not upsetting the apple cart? Or, busily focusing upon making your little #home the most beautiful place you can?

Right ... #christianity is #ecotoxic.
