I recently picked up an #opz and I can make some halfway decent (albeit heavily derivative) beats, but I can't write a melody or string together chords to save my life.

Got my hands on an OP-Z in trade last week. Didn't expect to enjoy it so much! Here I'm testing it out with some mouth samples from the onboard mic.

So the weirdly tiny on/off switch of my weirdly expensive #teenageEngineering #OPZ just fell of completely…

I was able to turn off the device with some teeny tiny pliers that come with a pocket knife.

Second patch with my new modular set up. Keeping it simple still. Learned a little more about Pam’s today, particularly around using levels to control the CV to v/Oct and limiting the range of octaves triggered in the #mutableinstruments #plaits

#TeenageEngineering is a company that makes expensive bags and ugly office furniture. Occasionally they put out some #synths like the #opz that work for a total of 3 months before showing obvious build quality issues. The bags and desks may last longer than that, who knows?

Some progress reverse-engineering the #OPZ now I can load all tracks, step length, step counts, mutes and bpm in a nicer and clear way. Thinking on adding MIDI and WAV export per track. Who is in?

My first Op-z Jam. I’ve had it for a while now, but haven’t spent enough time getting to know it. It’s sort of like having a bunch of Pocket Operators going at the same time, which as I’ve learned from my multi-PO jams gets complex fast. The #teenageengineering #op1 is fun, but I’ve always found its workflow a huge challenge for just jamming around. The #opz starts out totally inscrutable, but even after an hour or so, it’s way more up my alley as a live electro-jam device. Big fun.
