Killing #CentOS and barring #OracleLinux was more of "glock-leg" / "shooting themselves in the foot" of #RedHat and IMHO it should get RHEL to decline in adoption similar to #grsecurity when they #paywalled access to their #SourceCode.
I think it's a bad move even tho no #GPL version demands said sourcecode to be publicly accessible to everyone.

Rather than throw this bomb, I really wish #RedHat would say, "We don't want bug-for-bug RHEL-compatible downstream distros to exist, and we're making this change for that reason."
Instead, they threw the entire EL ecosystem into chaos.
I think #CentOS Stream-based downstream projects would be a cool idea, but I'm probably in a very small minority. Everybody just wants free #RHEL without having to do business with Red Hat.

I think Red Hat's wish is that all downstreams come from #CentOS and none from RHEL.
TBH, I think the situation is more dire/disruptive than some are making it out to be.
It looks like #OracleLinux might be part of the upstream for Alma.
Red Hat has a lot of solid tech, but the corporate drama is too much.
