@peterbrown @JackTheCat @peterbrown I’ve now read the Courier piece & I stand corrected. The OO does have a prog of small town ‘visits’ but this is not part of that. They are indeed marching to remember the Cameronian defeat of the Jacobites and do so every year. The organiser refers to it as ‘a peaceful church parade’. Dunkeld wasn’t in my constituency & my very frequent visits there only began at the end of 2020 - which explains why I’ve missed this bit of local ‘pageantry’ #OrangeOrder
@JackTheCat yeah, they were in Perth a few years ago and they’ll be somewhere else next year. It’s an assertion of a ‘right’ for the sake of it and is beyond tedious for all the communities where they rock up #OrangeOrder
@peterbrown @JackTheCat doubt they have much awareness of the history - either the locals or the OO. OO just regularly exercising their ‘right’ to march even in places with no history of Orange Walks. Couple of years ago it was Perth. Next year it will be a different village/town. They move around #OrangeOrder
@JackTheCat little known fact. The OO visits small towns in a sort of rotational ‘programme’ whether those small towns like it or not. Super tedious for said small towns #OrangeOrder #Dunkeld
The Twelfth: Orange Order eyes changes after 'abysmal' Belfast march https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-66102199 #OrangeOrder #12thOfJuly
I see the hate groups are out blocking traffic around Glasgow again today. Lots of fascistic flags and marching. Some of them said the quiet part out loud on a banner above an Orange Order holy meat pie source in Drumchapel this morning. It's ugly but it's also futile contemptible and ridiculous. I'm glad it's raining on their moron's parade today

Can’t find Brendan Ogle on here, so I’m attaching the link to his tweet which includes the clip mentioned.

@groovestomp In the last federal election, we learned about PM Trudeau's multiple blackface incidents about halfway through the campaign. It didn't affect my vote, but presumably some people were unwilling to support a party he led. Probably there are no unknown skeletons in Mr. Trudeau's closet, but perhaps we'll learn that Messrs. O'Toole and Singh belonged to the (bigoted anti-Catholic) #OrangeOrder in their 20s.
More likely is that you'll learn something awful about your local candidate.
