En bon geek, j'aime garder tout à jour. Je suis également heureux d'être un early adoter : les versions bêta sont donc les bienvenues.

Mais très peu de choses me font autant peur que la mise à jour de mon routeur #Orbi et de ses satellites.

Ce routeur a cette "fonctionnalité" qui fait en sorte que si jamais on le met à jour avant que chaque satellite ait complété ses mises à jour, ces satellites se transforment en presse-papiers.

I have never experienced update anxiety as much as when I'm about to update my #Orbi satellites and router.

They have this amazing "feature" where if you update the router before a satellite, that satellite becomes a paperweight. Unfortunately, their own official app is known to do the updates in random order, with the expected results.

So manual updates it is. But every time I am afraid of bricking something.

3) Do a full reset of the Bluetooth configurationon the Mac and re-pair all devices - Not tried yet.

4) Switch to using a third party Bluetooth adaptor - in particular this #Hideez device and switch to using that instead of the default Bluetooth stack. I've placed a query with them as to whether it works with (2/3)

From bad to worst, one can actually download new firmwares from their official website, yet you can't verify the integrity of the package. You gotta trust they have not been hacked and their package is safe.

And I don't want to start talking about their iOS app. Bad. Bad.

After troubleshooting #orbi satellites for 2 hours yesterday I can officially say that #netgear sucks. They must hate end users!
