Went out today with the family for lunch and haircuts and brought my #orbitReader20Plus #BrailleDisplay along and it was great, I really need to bring it out with me more often. Just sitting there with one earbud in and the display on my lap or the table and running my phone with it was so nice.

@jamminjerry I download to my phone, then transfer to my #orbitReader20Plus with a cable.
@devinprater @SingingNala @cublanco I have an #orbitReader20Plus only real issues I have with it is the micro-usb for charging, and wish I had bought the #orbitreader40
#orbitReader20Plus #orbitreader40
@SingingNala @devinprater Yeah the eReader case is pretty strong closure but leaves the sides and front open which is where almost all the ports and such are. I got the carry bag for my #orbitReader20Plus instead of the very high price clamshell and prefer that over what the eReader has.
Successfully downloaded files from #NLSBard and transferred them to my #orbitReader20Plus using my phone.
@robini71 yep a good #BrailleDisplay is like an old friend, I love my #orbitReader20Plus but sorta wish it was an #orbitreader40

@robini71 I like the carry case my #orbitReader20Plus has, it's just a shoulder bag that I can put it in along with the charger, a phone, and some other small things, not a clamshell type cover.
#OrbitResearch should release a #BrailleDisplay that splits the difference between the #orbitReader20Plus and the #orbitreader40 but and all the best features of all their main products, so usb-c, cursor routing, haptics and speech, wifi, address book, etc, split the cells and price as well and make it a 30 cell for $1199.

@devinprater @jscholes @talon @simon what I love my #orbitReader20Plus and using it with my #android
@miki #OrbitResearch already has easily replaceable batteries in all of their #BrailleDisplay and most of their other products as far as I know. However the #orbitreader20 and #orbitReader20Plus do not use USB-C which is another problem they would need to address.
#orbitresearch #BrailleDisplay #orbitreader20 #orbitReader20Plus
@devinprater yeah maybe, though if that was the issue the #orbitReader20Plus has those and is still much cheaper.
@jamminjerry @ShariRockz @JonathanMosen This seems to be somewhat isolated to the NLS eReader as I know people who were using supported HID displays from the 13.1 build just fine, also the fact the eReader is not readily available and runs on modified software could also explain some of the problems. I tested with mine last night and could not even get it to allow input whatsoever, yet my #orbitReader20Plus works flawlessly since the moment I got it.
@devinprater So the reason the support could not be done via a play system update is apparently it needed to be added at I believe the kernel level which was not feasible via those types of updates, they added what they could with cables and the full version is what’s coming in A14 which should be both cable and wireless hid. I use my #orbitReader20Plus most of the time though so it works either way, but I’m happy my ereader will work as well soon.
@MissA94 I ams so glad you're enjoying having a braille display so much. They really are a game changer in enumerable ways. When my Orbit Reader 20 Plus was in for repair, I realized just how much I depended on it for reading. Like you, I appreciate the Orbit's not doing a lot on it's own. All that onboard internet connectivity means to me is increased cost for convenience I do not directly need because there are other ways to achieve that without spending thousands. #braille #Braille display #orbitReader20Plus #blind #reading
