As part of my personal #TwitterMigration, I've updated my personal web site (https://www.shawnmjones.org) so that my social media icons are at the top as well as the bottom. This is the next step toward using my domain name, not my Twitter Handle, on public interactions like slides.

I have icons for #Mastodon, #Bluesky, #Threads, #Twitter, #GitHub, #LinkedIn, #GoogleScholar, and #ORCID.

"Why Twitter?” So that when people find my Twitter handle elsewhere they can confirm that it is the same me.

"Navbar tools" in #quarto are super handy to display social media icons!

One minor drawback of moving to this solution: it relies on #Bootstrap icons, so there isn't one for #ORCID yet, whereas there was one when I used Font Awesome. #FeatureRequest time?

#Science mastodon - is there a convenient tool out there that can be used to track #publication #metrics such as #citation for a group? For example adding people by #ORCID id between the dates for which they were members of the group then generating statistics for the whole group? Surely something like that must exist already?

Planning on doing a bit of a push on getting more ORCIDs in our CRIS system over the summer.

Have any of y'all had any successful initiatives? I'd love to hear about them!

How do other people in #arts fields (literary writing, visual arts) get #orcid to recognize their publications/"product"? Any tips or workarounds you've found?

That #FieldMuseum @BionomiaTrack dataset I was working on is now at 40%. That is, in #Bionomia 40% of the specimens in that dataset are now linked to either the #ORCID or the #Wikidata item for the collector or determiner of those specimens. It's now up to the FieldMuseum to decide whether they want to make use of that linking. #LinkedOpenData

So I'm heading to the #FieldMuseum while in Chicago next week and thought I'd spend time today working on their datasets in @BionomiaTrack First up is the Invertebrate Collection which is currently sitting at 14% complete. Pretty sure I can do better than that! #LinkedOpenData #Wikidata #ORCID

@epentz @apsmith I still don't understand why #ORCID exposed #Ringgold ids in the first place and not #ISNI ids since Ringgold itself has been recommending those for interoperability (at least a few years ago - now their website seems to emphasize that less)
