So when I got a job in (read: near) the town I just moved to, that’s when I gave myself permission to quit my old shitty job and actually move. Which is good! And I’ve got another job lined up, which I’m very grateful for. So I’m just at this (first) job till I get started at the second one. I’m very lucky!

BUT

This “bridge” job is turning out to be utter bullshit. There are just so many things that suck, I’m texting my gf and she’s like “just walk out!” and I’m very tempted to take her advice

one of the worst parts of working in restaurants is having to always be socially available for customers. I’m having a VERY bad night emotionally so I texted my girlfriend, and she’s texting me comforting responses because she is amazing. I can feel my phone going off in my pocket, but I can’t read them because I have to pretend to care about where this couple is sending their kid to school. I *could* blow them off, but I’m broke (hence the bad feelings) so I have to “play the role” to get the best tip I can.
