Bought some #orgeat (almond syrup) at an Italian grocery awhile ago, and was wondering what to make with it. Stumbled across my new favourite #cocktail recipe on the internet. Although I am somewhat messing it up (the original recipe calls for cognac, out of my budget).
"Japanese" (or #japonaise) cocktail:
1 ounce brandy (cognac if possible)
0.5 ounce lime juice
0.5 ounce orgeat syrup
1 dash of bitters (I use old school Angostura)
Seems more sophisticated than your usual sour cocktail. YUM.
@DrinkBoy we built this Japanese cocktail and it's a keeper. We found this a warm profile comparable to flavors like nutmeg, clove, almond which is consistent with the individual ingredient parts. And it was said we could sit in front of the fireplace and sip. Thank you for sharing, we enjoyed it.
