Hummingbird variations, so named because the melody is a variation of one written by Juliette Chailloux ("Les Oiseaux-Mouches", 1884). I borrowed the melodic line from the first four measures. Chailloux' score can be seen at vmirror.imslp.org/files/imglnk

Here is the third from the workshop, teaching basic concepts to younger kids. As I sing this song we are either outside making a rainbow by spraying water with a hose (weather permitting), or we are inside using a prism.

The orchestral piece completed (see also: musicians.today/@rppoedvd/1109 ). It chose not to be a sonata. After the main melody, there is now a development section by the woodwinds, a string transition, the main melody played by the french horn with string harmony, and a quiet coda. And it has a name: "Minni-Summer Music", being a musical image of an August day in Minnesota.

Here is the third song about from the workshops that I do for young children. After inspecting the anatomy of soaked bean seeds, we pretend we are seeds, spliting, pushing down our roots, pushing through the dirt towards the sunlight and unfurling our leaves

I ask the kids what kind of plant they are. One little boy told me he was an Apple Crisp .

Continuing the orchestral piece: the music of the first post ( musicians.today/@rppoedvd/1109 ) is an introduction in two parts; a chordal section followed by a fugato. Today's post adds a melody that starts in the woodwinds, moves to the strings, and finishes in both. This could be the first subject of a sonata form. Didn't start with a specific structure in mind, rather I'll let the music go where it wants.

Quinta is a slow ballad with guitar chords and melodies accompanied by Stefano's vocal sounds. Hang Drum joins with rhythmic tones, followed by the guitar. A unique section takes listeners elsewhere. Hang Drum and guitar repeat the strophe, while a cello adds sweet, slightly off-tune melody.

Sesta is an intimate Hang Drum solo, no other instruments. Indescribable.
